About

Lake Secu is a reservoir with an area of ​​734 hectares and a length of about 6km. The Secu dam was built between 1961-1963, on the Bârzava river, just a few kilometers upstream from the municipality of Reșita.

This is the first concrete dam with buttresses in Romania, with a height of 41 m. Its main role is to defend against floods and supply water to the municipality of Reșita.
