In the Caraș-Severin county, close to the town of Anina, hidden by the karst relief of the Minișului Valley, there is the Cave of Bones, consisting of a system of 12 interior galleries, where human remains over 35,000 years old have been discovered .

Initially, cavers thought the bones were just the remains of several animal species, but human remains were unearthed among them, including a Homo Sapiens mandible with five molars.
