Saint Elena is the oldest Czech village still inhabited by the Czech minority in Banat and belongs to Coronini commune. The town is located in the south of Caraş-Severin county, near the Danube and the Iron Gates. Sfânta Elena was the second Czech village established in Banat, in 1824, during which time the first wave of colonization with Czechs from Bohemia took place, for the development of wood exploitations in the area of ​​the Danube Gorge. Here, the Czechs built a Catholic church in 1879 and an Evangelical one in 1887, the Evangelical one being then taken over by the Baptist community. The "Egreta" complex is the first lake resort in our country, the village being an artificial floating island located in the Danube Gorge. The tourist complex consists of 15 wooden houses, suspended above the Danube and connected by a cliff. The village was born in 1828, when German settlers, known as "Pemi", originally from Bohemia, settled in this place, naming it Wolfsberg, translated as "Wolf Mountain". In recent years, the village has become famous for holding the Jazz Festival, an event that takes place annually during the summer in the Banat village, bringing together famous jazz singers for a few days. Tourists have the opportunity to visit the Village Museum and see the authentic way of life of Pemi families, who chose the Banatul Montan, almost two centuries ago.

The resort is situated at altitude of 850 m altitude, near the Three Waters Lake. Due to the abundant rainfalls and the low annual temperatures, Three Waters benefits of a very substantial layer of snow. This allows winter sports lovers to enjoy even more the attractions of the cold season. Watersports can be also practiced on the lake.
