About

The story revolves around some basins arranged along the Cerna River, which flows through the beautiful resort of Băile Herculane. In these pools, called 'cădițe' (small tubs), thermal water is collected directly from the ground.

If you don't have a doctor's recommendation, specialists advise not to stay in these tubs for more than 10 minutes.

This place is one of the most sought-after in the resort, considering that it is outdoors, and the waters are thermal, rich in therapeutic properties for the human body, such as iodine, sulfur, bromine, and many others.

Access here is quite easy if you follow the signs on the roads in the resort, and a few hundred meters away is a renowned restaurant in the area where you can try traditional food or have a coffee while admiring the mountain landscapes offered by the mountains surrounding it.

Also, a few meters away is the base of the mountain trails in the Cerna Mountains that lead to their ridge road.

The thermal waters of Băile Herculane are renowned for their therapeutic effect, known since Roman times, and even Empress Sissi of Austria, the wife of Emperor Franz Joseph, relaxed here.

IOAN CRIŞAN, whose name the zoo in Reşita bears, was a biology teacher at Bastilia (the current "Diaconovici-Tietz" high school). In the 60s of the last century, when he was director of the high school, he established a mini-zoo in the yard of the institution, whose undisputed star was a bear. This was the beginning, testimony of the teacher's love for living nature, for its knowledge by the students. Later the animals were transferred to the city park, their number constantly increasing. text source: zooresita.ro photo sources: zooresita.ro and Facebook Grădina Zoologică Reșița
