IOAN CRIŞAN, whose name the zoo in Reşita bears, was a biology teacher at Bastilia (the current "Diaconovici-Tietz" high school). In the 60s of the last century, when he was director of the high school, he established a mini-zoo in the yard of the institution, whose undisputed star was a bear. This was the beginning, testimony of the teacher's love for living nature, for its knowledge by the students. Later the animals were transferred to the city park, their number constantly increasing.
