The Oravița - Baziaș railway is a historical monument, being the oldest in Romania and having a length of 62.5 km. Its route passes through Iam, Milcoveni, Gârliște, Vrăniuți, Răcășdia, Oravița, containing 1 viaduct, 7 bridges, 17 footbridges.

The railway was used for the first time on August 20, 1854, for freight transport, and from November 1, 1856, it was also used for passenger trains. The Oravița - Baziaș railway is the oldest in Romania, with a length of 62.5 km.
