The Mountain Paradise in Winter

The Mountain Paradise in Winter

The mountain is home, the mountain is serenity, the mountain is where you feel at home. Since man has been on earth, the mountain has existed together with him. He provided shelter, food and water; and man always loved him.

Annually, thousands of tourists come to visit the majesty of the most spectacular landform in Caraș-Severin. From the Semenic Mountains to the Cernei Mountains, from the Almaj Mountains to the Țarcului Mountains, the mountain kingdom of Caraș is in itself a wonder of nature where winter takes over this mountain paradise year after year without fail.

Mountain resort Muntele Mic

The mountain paradise stands out not only for the natural wonders decorated by the white mantle of winter, but also for the mountain resorts that host thousands of tourists every year.

The Muntele Mic resort is one of the most special in the country, because the snow sometimes lasts 180 days a year. Practicing winter sports is possible from November to May and the thickness of the snow layer is on average 1 meter.

In this resort that seems torn from stories, you can enjoy a special landscape and ski slopes designed with dedication for the spirit of the adventurer. Here you can venture on the Borlova I / Borlova II Slope (served by the Borlova I-II ski lifts), the Sub Telescaun Slope (served by the chair lift), the Nordica Slope (served by the Nordica ski lifts), the Valea Soarelui Slope (served by the Felix ski lifts) and the Maloasa Slope - skiable road (served by the chairlift).

The jewel of the Banat - Semenic Mountains

The most visited mountain range is the central-eastern unit of the Banat Mountains Group which is formed by the Semenicului Mountains. The Semenic tourist area was created especially for practicing winter sports. The resort is located on the plateau of the Semenic Mountains, at an altitude of 1,400 meters.

Here tourists can enjoy natural snow for more than three months during the winter, and the ski areas are always eager to welcome those who want to meet them.

The Caraș Mountains host numerous locations that are worth visiting in winter, both by winter sports practitioners and by those looking for a well-deserved vacation.

You can also visit the Gărâna Slope where there are three slopes that were inaugurated at the end of 2013, but also the Văliug Slope where the specialized instructors from Casa Baraj can help you learn everything you need for skiing or snowboarding.
