About

The furnace and the funicular from Resita represent true testimonies of the Industrial Resita. The firing of the two furnaces in Resita Montana, on July 3, 1971, is the birth of the Resita Iron Factories.

In 1991 the furnaces were permanently stopped, and in 2004 "Furnalul no. 1 " was demolished. Furnace no. 2 which has been preserved has been declared a historical monument.
