The Venera Baths are a tourist attraction with curative properties. These baths have been known since the Roman period, but during the Austro-Hungarian period the Venera spring was rediscovered. Initially, it was used for the hygiene of soldiers, but research on its water revealed that it has twice the amount of sulfur per liter of water compared to other springs. In the past, venereal diseases were very common, specialists discovered that this spring treated these diseases, the sulfur in large quantity having a sterilizing effect. The spring was named Venera, after the diseases it treated. In addition, the water of this spring is also used to treat rheumatic conditions. photo source text source

The story revolves around some basins arranged along the Cerna River, which flows through the beautiful resort of Băile Herculane. In these pools, called 'cădițe' (small tubs), thermal water is collected directly from the ground. If you don't have a doctor's recommendation, specialists advise not to stay in these tubs for more than 10 minutes. This place is one of the most sought-after in the resort, considering that it is outdoors, and the waters are thermal, rich in therapeutic properties for the human body, such as iodine, sulfur, bromine, and many others. Access here is quite easy if you follow the signs on the roads in the resort, and a few hundred meters away is a renowned restaurant in the area where you can try traditional food or have a coffee while admiring the mountain landscapes offered by the mountains surrounding it. Also, a few meters away is the base of the mountain trails in the Cerna Mountains that lead to their ridge road. The thermal waters of Băile Herculane are renowned for their therapeutic effect, known since Roman times, and even Empress Sissi of Austria, the wife of Emperor Franz Joseph, relaxed here. IOAN CRIŞAN, whose name the zoo in Reşita bears, was a biology teacher at Bastilia (the current "Diaconovici-Tietz" high school). In the 60s of the last century, when he was director of the high school, he established a mini-zoo in the yard of the institution, whose undisputed star was a bear. This was the beginning, testimony of the teacher's love for living nature, for its knowledge by the students. Later the animals were transferred to the city park, their number constantly increasing. text source: zooresita.ro photo sources: zooresita.ro and Facebook Grădina Zoologică Reșița

Armeniș commune is the new host of bison (Bison bonasus) specimens from several European countries. The aim of the bison reserve is to successfully reintroduce the bison to its natural habitat and conserve it effectively. This will help maintain ecological corridors on a large scale, allowing natural processes and rewilding to take place. In 2015, the population of bison in the Armeniş reservation reached 30 specimens and then another 14 bison were brought to the Țarcu Mountains in June. The animals go through a process of gradual adaptation until they are released into the wild. Previously, in 2014, 17 bison, coming from breeding centers and zoos all over Europe, were relocated to the Țarcu Mountains. Source Text & Photo: https://m.facebook.com/WWFRomania
