The route starts upstream from the Băile Herculane resort, upstream from Stânca Ghizelei, which is on the left side of the road at km 4.1 towards Baia de Aramă. At approximately 4.3 km from the Băile Herculane resort, on the right side of the road after crossing the concrete bridge, you can see the first indicator that marks the starting point for the waterfall.
The Cociu waterfall offers a spectacular view, from where you can admire the water fall from a height of 120 m, unfolded in two streams. The waterfall does not have a permanent course due to the dry seasons, however, during periods with a permanent course the water trickles continuously, vertically without steps.
