On the left bank of the Danube, on the Cula Hill, right next to the Golubac Grad fortress on the Serbian side, are the ruins of the Ladislau Fortress.
It was built in 1428, during the time of the Hungarian king, Sigismund of Luxemburg, and between 1429-1435 it was the property of the Order of German Knights. Later, in 1457, it became the property of the Hunedorens, and after the Mohacs attack, it became the property of the Turks.
